Welcome to Tiny Sprouts Preschool! This is an in-home, play-based approach to learning for preschoolers, aged 3 to 5. At Tiny Sprouts, your child will learn that they are capable of so many things!
We will have circle time, centers and self-motivated activities. Through these activities the children will gain a knowledge of how school is structured, as well as have a chance to choose work that they would like to do. This will provide them with structure and also help them build self-confidence and start understanding time management.
The curriculum we will be using includes, but is not limited to the following:
· Fine and Gross Motor Skills
· Music and Movement
· Pre-reading/Reading Skills
· Social Development
· Writing Skills
· Writing their name
· Recognizing the colors
· Pronouncing the letters and sounds of the alphabet
· Recognizing the numbers and learning to count
· Recognizing shapes
· Recognizing sequencing of a story
Workbooks - Each week the kids will use their workbooks. In these books they will have name, shape, number and letter reusable pages, as well as a worksheet for each letter. We will also do a page each week for their end of year books. By limiting the class size to 6, I will be able to instruct each child individually.
Superstar - Your child will have the opportunity to be the Superstar for a week on a rotating schedule, giving them a sense of importance in the classroom. They will not only get to share about themselves, but they'll be the classroom helper and have extra special jobs.
Reading Buddies - At preschool we will have story time each day. During this time, we will be learning the parts of a book as well as retelling the sequence of the story. At reading time we use "Reading Buddies" a small stuffed animal, and they are a huge success! They will be able to teach their Buddy the concepts that we are learning and bring their Buddy to center time when applicable.
